Comedic use of automobiles in silent movies

Above Buster Keaton enacts a common concept that a Model T had to be put down like a horse when it's useful life was over, because like a horse, it was all give and no take, all heart.

1929 and 1924

the wheel chair has an attached power wheel, looks like something I just watched on the History channel show "American Pickers" an interesting show I like to try to catch. Also similar to the Briggs and Stratton motor wheel

Dean Martin's cars, quite a variety

For a gallery of photos of this 67 Ferrari 412 P http://flaviendachet.blogspot.com/2010/10/67-ferrari-412-p.html

According to http://www.dexigner.com/product/news-g12107.html Dean owned one of these 1967 Ferrari 412P on exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum. This is collborated by a commercial on the HDtht channel, which gives the following info: raced by the Belgium team Ecurie Francorchamps, owned by Harry Yeaggy, and was featured in the Cincinnati Art Museum from Nov 2007 to Jan 2008 http://www.designtaxi.com/news.php?id=13507
Also, just found a collaboration http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/oh/story/entertainment/events/2007/12/26/fe122707calendar.html

a 1976 Stutz Blackhawk

from what I could learn in searching the internet, Dean owned this Ghis L 6.4, a 1967 De Tomaso Mangusta Fantuzzi Targa, a 1966 Ferrari 330 GTC, and a 1972 Cadillac station wagon: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/03/1972-cadillac-station-wagon-1-of-2-made.html

If you loved Dean Martin, and want to check out a really cool laid back blog about him, his movies, some stills, and some video clips, ya gotta go see http://ilovedinomartin.blogspot.com/

You won't see many '64-'66 Imperials in So cal for sale, the upcoming movie "the Green Hornet" needed 29 built

Seth Rogen (who is the lead in the movie The Green Hornet) unveiled one at the 2009 Comic-con http://www.accesshollywood.com/seth-rogen/comic-con-2009-seth-rogen-unveils-green-hornets-black-beauty_video_1138356 for the video, but a full gallery of photos are here: http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/comic-con-2009-the-green-hornets-black-beauty#6
The original was built by icon Dean Jefferies.

Dennis McCarthy is the picture car coordinator (just 6 years of doing this so far) in Hollywood that made the cars used during filming the last two The Fast and the Furious movies, which he had over a $7 million dollar budget on just Tokyo Drift http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/general/hdrp_0607_movie_car_builds/index.html

and now he's building the Green Hornet "Black Beauty" Imperials.
29 of them.

great interview with Dennis here: http://www.latinoreview.com/news/fast-furious-week-continues-interview-with-car-coordinator-dennis-mccarthy-new-poster-6189 which is the same as the one here, http://www.collider.com/entertainment/interviews/article.asp/aid/10961/tcid/1http://www.collider.com/entertainment/interviews/article.asp/aid/10961/tcid/1http://www.collider.com/entertainment/interviews/article.asp/aid/10961/tcid/1 but with a different writer claiming credit for the writing... odd.

"My Mother the Car" the car was made by Norm Grabowski or Barris?

Premiering in 1965, what may be the strangest sitcom of all time is a reminder that borderline brain-dead TV executives have been with us for decades — and deserve no say in the big-budget boardroom. Jerry Van Dyke played a man who discovers that his mother's soul has been reincarnated in his automobile, enabling him to hear her voice through the radio http://www.esquire.com/the-side/feature/worst-tv-shows-100109

Hot Rod Deluxe, May 2010 issue page 69 says Norm made it, and it was owned by Kaye Trapp, Hollywood studio photographer who used it as a push car for the Zueschel, Fuller, and Moody dragster

But according to http://local.aaca.org/junior/starcars/mother.htm Barris built the car; The car's body (finished in Metalflake carnation red with a white top) was made up from various vehicles including a Model T Ford, a Maxwell (precursor to the Chrysler), a Hudson, and pieces of a Chevrolet, including drive train. The car had a custom-made hood and radiator shell.
2 were made, one is at http://starcarstn.com/index.html in Tennessee along with a lot of other cool cars like the Munsters Dragula, and a collection of Barris customs

The video is badly editted news shorts from a local tv station perhaps... it seems like it once had commercials, only the first half is really worth watching

Very cool redesigning of vehicles as if they are all round and can hover, brilliant. The tank track is under it, so is the stage coach wagon wheel

'49 Ford?
metro bus
cop car like the 49 Ford
Stagecoach
58 Pontiac?
49 Ford and a Vespa?
Checker cab, 49 Ford, and ? blue Jaguar?
Several on a Woodie

Not sure about the brown one, or the grey nosed one, then there's the green VW, and a turquoise Cadillac tail
Checker, not sure, Cadillac, that blue Jag? Or Austin? green 61 Chevy? and wonderful iconic yellow school bus
The cool Caddy

Love the Kombi / VW micro bus

The VW bug

Not sure about this TV camera crew car

The military Jeep and other military vehicles

The gas stations

The cool tanks
